We are seeking a dynamic Sr. Back End Engineer to spearhead our development initiatives, be a thought leader, and establish [cafeteria] as a market leader.

about the role

You’ll be joining a 8-person, venture-backed, high-energy, entrepreneurial team that is deeply focused on building scalable backend infrastructure to power our platform. You will work closely with the team to design, develop, and maintain core backend services, ensuring they are robust, secure, and capable of scaling as we grow. With your extensive experience in AWS, SQL, and database management across platforms like BigQuery, Snowflake, ClickHouse, and Postgres, you’ll play a critical role in managing and optimizing data pipelines and integrations. In addition to your backend skills, proficiency in TypeScript will be key for ensuring a consistent, maintainable codebase.

We need someone who thrives in the fast-paced world of startups, someone who can juggle many tasks and take initiative in shaping the backend that powers our vision.

core requirements

  • 5+ years of backend development experience, with significant experience in startups or fast-paced environments.
  • Strong expertise in AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.) for managing and deploying scalable backend services.
  • Deep experience with SQL and working with large datasets across BigQuery, Snowflake, ClickHouse, and PostgreSQL.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript for server-side development.
  • Experience building APIs, data pipelines, and ensuring seamless integration with frontend applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on performance, scalability, and security.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities in a startup environment.

pay range

USD $125,000.00 - $175,000.00 /Yr.

We are NYC-based, currently operating remote. We have a strong preference for candidates in or near NYC, with the ability to meet in person periodically. Remote candidates will be considered, but the ability to operate in ET and collaborate in real time is a must.
